"The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the heart of a mother."
St. Therese of Lisieux
Postpartum Doula Services
I support moms through the postpartum period by offering mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and practical support, as they process their birth, adjust to their new baby, adjust to their new postpartum body and mind, and juggle all of the normal life things that existed prior to baby's arrival. This can include any or all of the following, based on mom's needs:
support processing birth
support with breastfeeding
support through "baby blues" and other common hormonal and emotional postpartum fluctuations
caring for baby so mom can nap, shower, eat, spend time with spouse, spend time with older kids, etc.
making mom a meal
doing some chores for mom (dishes, wipe down counters, clean out fridge, run some laundry, etc.)
help mom immediately postpartum with any physical tasks (help mom take a shower, use the restroom, etc.)
running simple errands (i.e. picking up a few groceries)
caring for older kids so mom can focus on baby, have time with spouse, shower, eat, etc.
support the family unit as needed to return to church (attend with the family, stay home with some or all kids, etc.)
check in with spouse as needed to offer any support they need postpartum
help mom manage visitors or any complicated relationships with extended family to decrease stress
help mom mentally and emotionally prepare to return to work if this is part of her plan
help baby transition to bottles if needed at any point
"... a mother... has built something more magnificent than any cathedral... the tiny perfection of her baby's body... Mothers are closer to God the Creator than any other creature; God joins forces with mothers in performing this act of creation..."
Cardinal József Mindszenty

What areas do you service?
I am located in Evansville on the west side and serve the Evansville and surrounding areas (such as Newburgh, Boonville, Chandler, McCutchanville, etc.). I do not have any hard limits on how far I will travel to serve families - if you are worried that you are too far away, schedule a call or submit a contact form to discuss further!
Depending on distance, there may be the risk of me missing some or all of your laboring and birth experience depending on when you contact me to come and how fast your birth is. There may also be added costs associated with distance - mostly for postpartum doula services where all post-natal visits are at your own home and would require more travel on my end. All of these details can be discussed and ironed out during our free initial call.
Do you have any options for families in financial hardship?
We do have payment plans and financial assistance (reduced rates) available! Please complete our application for financial assistance and review our payment plan options and see if either of those make my services sufficiently accessible to you (please complete our contact form to request this information).
We also offer free 1-hour financial consultations for all prospective and active clients to help families assess their financial picture and either find a way to make it work for the services they want, or decide on alternative routes that still offer sufficient support for the family. Sometimes these alternative routes include some of our lower-cost resources that are available for purchase and offer lots of guidance and support for the various areas of family life we serve. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please utilize our contact form to touch bases with me!
What does "Catholic-minded" mean?
Great question! As a Catholic wife and mother, I have come to have a fairly specific view of the vocation of being a spouse and parent. This means a lot of different things, but generally, it means I prioritize respecting and honoring God's design for the family unit and respecting every individual member of the families I help - that family is the unit ordained by God and I am merely a support person for the sake of the family. I will always honor the life of all children - in and out of the womb. I believe in sacrificial love and hope to offer that to the families I serve as they need it. The virtues I strive to live out are peace, joy, humility, charity, and perfect sacrificial love. These virtues bleed out into how I serve families and the approach I will take through all situations, including being accountable for my choices and actions and correcting them as needed to better support the families I serve.
Do I have to be Catholic to work with you?
Absolutely not! I am open to serving all families, regardless of your religious or spiritual beliefs. That said, it is important for you to know and understand my faith background and how that will impact my care and service to you. My services are Catholic-minded and I will always uphold my beliefs and values as a Catholic. I will not be able to participate in any activities that go against my personal faith.
If you are not Catholic, are interested in working with me, and have some religious or spiritual practices or beliefs that are important to you that you would like to incorporate in your birth, or a life circumstance that you worry may impede working with me, we can discuss those specifics together and see if my services are still a good option for you! I will never turn away a potential client simply because they are not Catholic and I aim to serve all of my clients with the God-given respect and dignity they deserve, regardless of their personal faith.
